Wolves Latest Update: Pereira’s Side Aim for Premier League Survival
Wolves secured a crucial 2-1 win away at Southampton on Saturday, with Jorgen Strand Larsen scoring both goals. Despite a late goal from Paul Onuachu, Pereira’s side held firm for the three points.
Pereira reflected on the win, saying, “It’s a fantastic result for us. I suffered a little bit in the last 10 minutes because we had chances to score the third goal twice, and I believe with the third goal, we would have had more tranquillity to play, to keep the ball, to make the pace of the game with the ball, to control the game with the ball.”
“But in this league, we cannot have a chance to score and then concede a goal. After we conceded, they scored a quick goal. From a three-zero situation, it became 2-1, and that’s just one goal difference. We needed those three points, and in the end, we did well to hold on.”
He added, “We had two big chances – if the last pass had been right, we had a four-on-two situation just before they scored. In these moments, we have to finish the game with the third goal.”
