Opta forecasts that 18th-placed Ipswich Town will finish with 24.29 points, two fewer than Wolves currently have. Similarly, 19th-placed Leicester City is expected to end with just 23.76 points.
Rather than seeing their nine-point lead over the relegation zone shrink, Opta predicts Wolves will actually extend it to a comfortable 13 points. The prediction is that Pereira’s team will gather another 11 points in their final nine games, finishing the season with 37 points from 38 matches.
The theoretical survival threshold is higher—44 points—but that figure assumes an improbable scenario where both Ipswich and Leicester win all their remaining games. Given that these two clubs have only combined for seven wins this season, such a run seems highly unlikely.
Wolves’ Remaining Fixtures for the 2024/25 Premier League Season
Although Opta’s projections suggest Wolves may not need any more points, fans would likely feel more at ease if the team secured a few more wins. Fortunately, there are opportunities to do so.
Wolves will face relegation rivals Ipswich and Leicester before the season ends. Wins over both could effectively guarantee their survival.
Additionally, Wolves will likely fancy their chances of taking points from struggling sides like Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United in mid-April.
