“I was told that…”- Fabrizio Romano provided an update on Friday morning regarding Leeds United’s potential move to hire Cesc Fabregas as their new manager. He shared that he had been informed about the situation, offering insight into the club’s managerial search following the possibility of replacing Daniel Farke.

Leeds United’s hopes of appointing Cesc Fabregas as their next manager may have been dashed, as Fabrizio Romano reports in his exclusive GIVEMESPORT transfer newsletter that the Spanish legend is already focused on the transfer window with his current club, Como, after nearly securing their Serie A status.

Leeds secured promotion to the Premier League on Monday night with a 6-0 victory over Stoke City.

Combined with Burnley’s 2-1 win over Sheffield United, it ensured that third-place Sheffield United could no longer catch Leeds, sparking celebrations at Elland Road well into the evening.

Though Fabregas had been linked with the Leeds managerial role, Romano has quashed those rumors.

He reports that Fabregas will remain at Como this summer, where he is already planning for the upcoming transfer window.

Como are currently 12th in Serie A and have won their last three matches.

With their top-flight survival almost guaranteed, they are only four points away from a top-half finish, which would be a huge accomplishment for Fabregas in his managerial career.

If Como can bring in high-profile players like Raphael Varane, Andrea Belotti, Alberto Moreno, and Sergi Roberto this summer, they may be able to challenge for European spots.
