Brendan Rodgers Provides Key Celtic Duo Injury Update

Brendan Rodgers Issues Injury Update on Alistair Johnston and Nicolas Kühn After Rangers Clash

Brendan Rodgers has shared updates on the fitness of Alistair Johnston and Nicolas Kühn following their absence from Celtic’s 1-1 draw against Rangers at Ibrox.

Johnston, who has been a key figure in Celtic’s defence this season, missed the match due to an ongoing injury issue.

Rodgers revealed that the club is using the current break to administer treatment in hopes of getting him fit in time for the upcoming Scottish Cup final against Aberdeen.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Rodgers said: “All games are important, of course, but our big priority is the Scottish Cup final. We’ve got a short window now for him to receive treatment.

He’s getting an injection to help clear up the problem he’s been dealing with.”

As for winger Nicolas Kühn, who was sidelined with a knee injury, Rodgers gave a more encouraging update.

“Hopefully he’ll be fine by next week,” Rodgers said. “He took a knock to the knee in the Dundee United match. He hasn’t trained much this week and has been working with the medical and rehab teams.

We tested him yesterday, but the scan showed a bruise on his knee. We’re optimistic he’ll be ready for next weekend.”

With less than three weeks to go before Celtic’s Hampden showdown with Aberdeen, the hope is that both Johnston and Kühn will recover in time to play a part.

Their absence was noticeable in today’s match, especially on the right flank, where Celtic lacked their usual attacking edge.
