Leeds United Make Key Transfer Call on £90,000-a-Week Everton Loanee
Leeds United and 49ers Enterprises have reportedly made a firm decision regarding the future of Everton loanee Jack Harrison, as preparations for life back in the Premier League ramp up.
Premier League Plans Already in Motion
After clinching the Championship title in the final game of the season, Leeds are now focused on reinforcing their squad ahead of their return to the top flight. A new striker is high on Daniel Farke’s wish list, with internal discussions already taking place about a move for AZ Alkmaar’s Troy Parrott. The former Spurs forward could cost upwards of £20 million following a strong season in the Netherlands.
In addition to Parrott, Leeds are exploring other attacking options. TEAMtalk reports that they’re eyeing Jamie Vardy, who is set to become a free agent after leaving Leicester. They’re also interested in Ipswich Town’s Omari Hutchinson, who has a relegation release clause and could command a fee in the £26–£30 million range.
Jack Harrison Unlikely to Return to Leeds
With new signings on the agenda, Leeds may need to trim their squad, and one player not in their future plans is Jack Harrison. According to Football Insider, the club has decided the 28-year-old is unlikely to return to Elland Road even if Everton don’t sign him permanently.
Harrison’s two-year loan at Goodison Park is nearing its end, and while he still has three years left on his Leeds contract, the club reportedly sees no place for him in their plans. Part of the reasoning is the current depth Leeds have on the wings—plus plans to bring in at least two more wide players this summer.
Although Harrison has made 31 Premier League appearances for Everton this season (22 starts), his return of one goal and one assist has underwhelmed.
With David Moyes yet to make a decision on keeping him, and Leeds ready to move on, Harrison may be set for a fresh start elsewhere if Everton pass on a permanent deal.
