“Marathe’s Masterplan for Leeds United EXPOSED – And It’s Exactly What Fans Hoped For
Leeds United Chairman Lays Out Ambitious European Vision After Premier League Return
Leeds United chairman Paraag Marathe has unveiled a bold new roadmap for the club following its triumphant return to the Premier League, declaring his intent to transform Leeds into a powerhouse not just in England, but across Europe.
Marathe made his rousing declaration during a jubilant open-top bus parade through Leeds, where around 150,000 fans flooded the streets to celebrate the club’s momentous promotion.
It was the first time in over three decades that Leeds hosted a promotion parade with fans present — their last came in 1990. Their 2020 promotion under Marcelo Bielsa occurred behind closed doors due to the pandemic.
The celebrations came just days after Leeds clinched the Championship title in dramatic fashion. A stoppage-time winner from Manor Solomon sealed a 100-point campaign and capped a two-year journey back to the top flight.
Marathe: “This is just the beginning”
Speaking to reporters and the sea of supporters, Marathe acknowledged the magnitude of what Leeds had achieved — and the challenges still to come.
“This wasn’t f***ing easy. It was really hard,” he said candidly, addressing the crowd from the open-top bus. “It’s taken two years to get to this moment, and that struggle makes today even more meaningful.”
But Marathe made it clear that promotion is not the final destination.
“This is only the start of our journey,” he continued. “We have bigger ambitions. There will be tough times ahead, but our goal is to become one of the elite clubs in all of Europe.”
With Leeds United now back in the Premier League, the chairman’s message is clear: this is not a return — it’s a rebirth.
