Leeds United get green light to sign £25m star as Premier League manager makes big decision

Signed for £25 million, Aaronson has yet to justify that price tag. His inconsistent performances in the Championship have raised serious concerns about whether he can make an impact at Premier League level.
Speculation has emerged that Aaronson may seek a move elsewhere, especially as he eyes regular minutes ahead of the 2026 World Cup, which will be co-hosted by the United States.

Leeds aren’t the only club in the race—Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou is also reportedly interested.
Guardiola appears unconvinced by McAtee’s recent showing at Southampton, which could help facilitate a move.

Now that Aaronson has a full Championship season under his belt with Leeds, comparisons with McAtee—who previously played a full Premier League campaign at Elland Road—are more grounded.
Statistically, McAtee has outperformed Aaronson. If City are genuinely ready to part ways with him, Leeds should move decisively.
However, they’ll likely face stiff competition, as many Premier League clubs may consider making a move—though whether any are prepared to meet the £25 million asking price remains to be seen.
