Leeds Want to Sign Another ‘World-Class’ Premier League Star

Leeds United Weigh Move for Liverpool Keeper Caoimhin Kelleher Ahead of Premier League Return

Leeds United are exploring the possibility of signing Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher as they prepare for life back in the Premier League, according to MailOnline.

With Illan Meslier likely to depart, the Whites are targeting a new first-choice goalkeeper and have identified Kelleher as one of the potential candidates. The Republic of Ireland international saw increased playing time at Liverpool earlier this season while Alisson was injured but has largely returned to the bench since December.

Now 26, Kelleher is expected to seek a move away from Anfield in search of regular first-team football, particularly with just one year remaining on his current contract.

Kelleher on Leeds’ Radar—But Not the Top Priority

While Kelleher is being considered, he isn’t currently Leeds’ primary target to fill the goalkeeping role, according to the report. However, his Premier League and Champions League experience is attractive to Daniel Farke’s side, who are looking to add top-flight pedigree to their newly promoted squad.

Kelleher has made 25 Premier League appearances and started six Champions League matches—four of them this season—highlighting his credentials at the highest level.

Leeds Also Eyeing Liverpool’s Tsimikas and Chelsea’s Petrovic

In addition to Kelleher, Leeds are also interested in Liverpool left-back Kostas Tsimikas as a possible successor to Junior Firpo, who is reportedly set for a return to Real Betis.

Meanwhile, another ‘world-class’ goalkeeper option is believed to be on Leeds’ radar: Chelsea’s Djordje Petrovic, currently on loan at Strasbourg. The club is expected to be active in the transfer market as they gear up for a Premier League campaign.
