Speaking during his arrival at training with Charlotte, Zaha was asked for his thoughts on Palace’s FA Cup triumph.
Clearly thrilled, the Ivory Coast international said: “Oh, I’m buzzing, man. I feel like the club deserves it, the fans deserve it.
Yeah man, I’m very happy for the club. I’m happy for south London in general.”
While he wasn’t on the pitch for the final, Zaha’s legacy at Selhurst Park looms large.
His years of service helped shape Palace into a team capable of toppling giants—like Manchester City—in a major final.
Zaha Nearly Rejoined Palace in January
In a twist of fate, Crystal Palace explored the possibility of bringing Zaha back during the January transfer window. A return would’ve marked a fairytale homecoming for the 32-year-old forward.
However, FIFA rules blocked the move, as Zaha had already featured for both Galatasaray and Lyon earlier in the season—players are only allowed to play for two clubs in a single campaign under FIFA regulations.
Fortunately for Charlotte FC, those rules do not apply in Major League Soccer, allowing them to complete the signing.
