Leeds United Boss Breaks Silence with Emotional Message to Joe Biden After Shocking Cancer Diagnosis

Leeds United Investor and Former Obama Campaign Manager Sends Support to Joe Biden Following Cancer Diagnosis

A minority investor in Leeds United, who also played a key role in a successful White House election campaign, has voiced his support for former U.S. President Joe Biden following news of his cancer diagnosis.

Biden, 82, has been diagnosed with an advanced form of prostate cancer that has spread to his bones.

A statement released on Sunday confirmed that the former president and his family are currently considering treatment options.

His office explained, “Last week, President Biden underwent evaluation for a newly detected prostate nodule due to worsening urinary symptoms.

On Friday, he was diagnosed with prostate cancer with a Gleason score of 9 (Grade Group 5), indicating bone metastasis. Although the cancer is more aggressive, it is hormone-sensitive, allowing for effective treatment.”

Biden stepped down from office in January as the oldest president in U.S. history, ending his re-election campaign in its later stages.

Jim Messina, Leeds United co-owner and former deputy chief of staff to President Barack Obama, who also managed Obama’s 2012 re-election campaign, posted a message of encouragement on social media platform X.

“My thoughts are with President Biden and his family as they face this difficult diagnosis,” he wrote.

“I know he will meet this challenge with the same courage, strength, and dignity he’s shown throughout his public life.”

President Biden also shared a heartfelt message on social media, thanking the public for their outpouring of support.

“Cancer affects us all,” he wrote. “Jill and I, like so many of you, have discovered strength in the hardest moments. Thank you for lifting us with your love and support.”

Nearly two years ago, Messina publicly announced his involvement as an investor in 49ers Enterprises, the group that acquired Leeds United from Andrea Radrizzani in 2023.
