Everton Near Season’s End with Major Summer Rebuild Ahead

With just one match left before their summer break, Everton’s season is almost at its conclusion following an emotional farewell to Goodison Park.

Manager David Moyes, who returned to the club earlier this year, has made a strong impact — and finishing the campaign at home with a win ranks among his most notable achievements so far.

Looking ahead, Everton are preparing for a pivotal summer.

The upcoming transfer window will be the first under the stewardship of The Friedkin Group, and CEO Angus Kinnear has emphasized the significance of the months ahead.

Fortunately for Everton fans, the club is in the hands of a proven manager who’s helped steer the team in a positive direction since January.

The Friedkin Group, meanwhile, continues to show ambition both at Everton and beyond — most notably by securing an agreement with former Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp.

Klopp Set for Return Under Everton’s Owners

Jürgen Klopp, who was left disappointed after his final Merseyside Derby ended in defeat to Everton, may now be making a return to football — under Everton’s current ownership.

As reported by La Stampa, Klopp has reportedly approved an offer from The Friedkin Group to take over as AS Roma’s new manager.

It’s been just a year since Klopp stepped away from Liverpool in search of a break, but the 57-year-old now appears ready to return — this time working with the group that owns Everton.

Though Klopp has no direct connection to the Toffees, the move could still raise eyebrows among Liverpool fans, given the shared ownership.

Earlier this season, Liverpool’s incoming manager Arne Slot had praised Everton — and now Klopp’s potential partnership with The Friedkins adds another layer of intrigue to the Merseyside dynamic.

Klopp’s Surprising Everton Praise

Despite years of fierce rivalry, Klopp has occasionally spoken highly of Everton — especially their threat from set pieces.

Reflecting on a 2023 Merseyside Derby, he said:
“We controlled a lot of moments, but you can’t control everything — the set pieces they have are insane.

That was the biggest difference from the last game. Their first chance didn’t go in; it hit the post.”

Interestingly, Everton played Roma in a pre-season match last summer — prior to The Friedkin Group’s official takeover in December.

With Klopp possibly stepping in at Roma, this friendly fixture could become a regular pre-season event, potentially bringing Klopp back to Merseyside in a very unexpected way.
