Of greater concern to the Wolves faithful is the uncertain future of club captain Nelson Semedo.

Manager Vitor Pereira is keen to retain Semedo, but his substantial wages could prove to be a stumbling block, forcing the club into a difficult decision.
Wolves Could Name a Sixth Captain in Just Three Years
Former Wolves player Dave Edwards recently praised Semedo on a podcast, calling him “excellent” and suggesting that extending his stay could be one of the club’s smartest moves this summer.
Semedo was surprised when handed the captain’s armband in December, succeeding Mario Lemina, but he has embraced the responsibility impressively.
His leadership extends beyond the pitch, where he’s known for organising team-building activities and fostering unity within the squad.
Despite his contributions, interest from clubs in the Saudi Pro League suggests a summer exit could be on the cards.
If Semedo does leave, Wolves will face the task of appointing their sixth different captain in just three years.
Ideally, the club would secure his future and maintain continuity in leadership.
However, with time running out to resolve his contract situation, Pereira must carefully consider potential replacements.
Pereira is keen to end the revolving door of short-lived captains, particularly following the abrupt change involving Lemina.
One option is Joao Gomes, who recently signed a contract extension. Yet even he may not be a long-term fixture, given ongoing interest from larger clubs.
This is why Emmanuel Agbadou emerges as a compelling candidate. The Ivorian centre-back has made a strong impression since his arrival, both on and off the pitch.
Previously captain of Stade Reims, Agbadou highlighted his leadership skills when he joined Wolves in January.
“I believe I can bring leadership to this team, and the coach discussed this with me as one of the reasons I was brought in,” he said.
Already well-respected in the dressing room and central to the team’s long-term plans, the 27-year-old seems a natural fit to take on the captaincy role.
