Ange Postecoglou delivered the perfect response to his doubters on Thursday night, guiding Tottenham Hotspur to Europa League glory with a 1-0 victory over Manchester United in Bilbao.

Rodgers Defends Postecoglou from Criticism
Speaking to the media on Friday, Rodgers applauded Postecoglou’s success and condemned the criticism his predecessor had faced throughout the season.
“I’m really pleased for Ange on a personal level,” Rodgers said. “It’s been a tough year for him, and he’s had to deal with a lot of nonsense from the outside.
“To see him smiling at the end of the final was fantastic. He’s worked incredibly hard, brought a fresh vision to Spurs, and tried to change the culture at the club—never an easy task.”
Rodgers also highlighted the wider impact of Ange’s success, adding: “Winning the Europa League and getting Spurs back into the Champions League is a huge step.
Now he can build on that and keep moving forward next season.”
Celtic’s Emotional Goodbye to ‘Angeball’
Postecoglou left Celtic in the summer of 2023 after two hugely successful seasons, where he won five major trophies including a domestic treble.
His departure was a blow to Celtic fans, who had embraced his high-energy, attacking style of play dubbed ‘Angeball.’
Despite some initial skepticism, Brendan Rodgers returned to Parkhead and has since continued the club’s winning ways, maintaining Celtic’s domestic dominance.
