“You just can’t get the ball off him,” says Bamford
Bamford highlighted the difficulty of pressing Stones, describing the experience as “horrible” due to the defender’s exceptional composure and skill on the ball.
“Trying to get the ball off John Stones. Oh my God,” Bamford said.
“I already knew how good he was from the England youth levels, but in that City team, it’s nearly impossible to press him.
He’s just so composed, always dropping the shoulder or stepping into space. It’s a nightmare.”
