Nottingham Forest’s 1-0 loss to Chelsea on the final day of the Premier League season confirmed their qualification for the UEFA Conference League.
While there was initial disappointment—given Forest had spent much of the season in Champions League contention—the overall campaign has been a major success under Nuno Espirito Santo.
At the start of the season, a seventh-place finish would’ve exceeded expectations.

Murillo Suggests He’ll Remain at Forest
Murillo has had a breakout year, attracting interest from top clubs in the Premier League and Europe.
Chelsea are reportedly keen on the Brazilian as new manager Enzo Maresca looks to strengthen his defence.
Forest are believed to value the 22-year-old at around £70 million, and some reports suggest it could take a world-record fee for a defender to lure him away.
Despite the interest, Murillo appeared to commit his future to the club in a recent Instagram post:

Uncertainty Around Gibbs-White’s Future
With Murillo likely staying, attention now turns to Morgan Gibbs-White, whose future remains unclear.
While no deal has been confirmed, reports suggest Manchester City are close to a £70 million move for the England international.
Forest’s qualification for the Conference League—rather than the Champions League—could weaken their hand in holding onto Gibbs-White. Adding to the speculation, he shares a close friendship with Phil Foden, which could tempt him toward the Etihad.
Should he depart, Forest are reportedly eyeing a replacement in City’s James McAtee, who is valued at around £35 million.
