Matheus Cunha Breaks Silence on Manchester United Move: “A Dream Come True”

Matheus Cunha has spoken publicly for the first time about his anticipated move to Manchester United, describing the transfer as a “dream come true” and a major step forward in his career.

The 26-year-old Brazilian forward, who enjoyed a standout season with Wolves by scoring 15 Premier League goals, is set to join United in the coming days as the Red Devils look to bolster their attacking options ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.

Cunha, who has previously played for clubs like Atlético Madrid and Hertha Berlin, took to social media to share his excitement about the new chapter.

“Joining Manchester United is something I’ve dreamed about since I was a child,” Cunha said. “To have the chance to wear one of the most iconic shirts in world football is an honour. I’m ready to give my all for the badge and fight for trophies.”

The move comes after a highly productive season at Molineux, where Cunha not only found the back of the net regularly but also became one of the most dynamic forwards in the league. Despite some disciplinary setbacks—including two bans—his passion and commitment to Wolves won him praise from fans and pundits alike.

Now, the Brazil international is ready to test himself on a bigger stage and contribute to United’s revival under Erik ten Hag.

“I will always be grateful to Wolves and the fans for everything,” Cunha added. “But I feel ready for this challenge. Manchester United has a special place in football history, and I want to help write the next chapter.”

With his move expected to be finalized soon, Cunha will join a growing list of Brazilian talents who have left their mark at Old Trafford. Fans will be eagerly waiting to see if he can replicate—and possibly surpass—his form from last season in the famous red shirt.
