Leeds United Yet to Make Summer Signings Despite Promotion Back to Premier League
As June begins, Leeds United have yet to make any signings in the summer transfer window—six weeks on from securing their return to the Premier League.
The Whites clinched automatic promotion on April 21, ending their two-year stay in the Championship. However, the newly structured recruitment team is still searching for its first addition of the summer.
Newly appointed sporting director Adam Underwood faces a baptism of fire, as this transfer window is widely regarded as one of the most pivotal in the club’s recent history. His top priority? Securing a proven striker capable of delivering goals in the Premier League.
Leeds Eye Move for Troy Parrott
One of the strikers being linked with a move to Elland Road is Irish international Troy Parrott. The 22-year-old has had an exceptional season following his move from Tottenham Hotspur to AZ Alkmaar in the summer of 2024, scoring 20 goals and providing five assists across the Eredivisie and Europa League.
Parrott is reportedly valued at £25 million, and while he has publicly downplayed talk of an imminent departure, Leeds remain interested. Over the weekend, Parrott shared his appreciation for AZ on Instagram, calling them a “beautiful club.” Among the responses was one from Sunderland’s Romaine Mundle, who praised Parrott as “the best striker in the world.”
Other Striker Targets for Leeds
Troy Parrott isn’t the only name on Leeds’ radar. Lecce striker Nikola Krstovic has also emerged as a target. The Montenegro international contributed to 16 of Lecce’s 27 Serie A goals this season, playing a key role in their survival campaign. However, following Omar Marmoush’s £59 million move to Manchester City, Lecce could demand up to £50 million for Krstovic.
Another option under consideration is Kasper Dolberg. The Danish forward netted 24 goals for Anderlecht last season and could bring valuable experience to Leeds’ attacking line.
Additionally, Promise David of Union Saint-Gilloise has been linked with a potential move. The young forward recently earned a Canada call-up under coach Jesse Marsch and helped USG clinch the Belgian title in his debut season, scoring twice in the decisive match.
