Barcelona Eyeing Move for Former Everton Winger Ademola Lookman
Everton’s transfer activity over the past decade has been a mixed bag.

Barcelona Interested in Ademola Lookman
Barcelona are reportedly exploring a deal to sign Ademola Lookman, who once struggled to make an impact at Goodison Park.
The Toffees signed him from Charlton Athletic for £11 million in 2017 with high expectations, but Lookman failed to establish himself and was sent out on multiple loans before making a permanent switch to RB Leipzig in 2019.
Since then, the Nigerian international has found his footing, emerging as one of Serie A’s top wide players with Atalanta.
Lookman made headlines after scoring a stunning hat-trick in the 2024 Europa League final against Bayer Leverkusen, significantly boosting his profile.
According to Catalan outlet 3cat, Barcelona have initiated talks with Lookman’s representatives and are considering a move this summer.
While he still has two years remaining on his Atalanta contract, there’s optimism at the Camp Nou that a deal could be struck for around £25 million. However, other reports claim Atalanta could demand up to £50 million for the 27-year-old.
Arsenal and PSG Also in the Race
Barcelona aren’t the only club monitoring Lookman’s situation. Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain are also reportedly interested. Gunners legend Ian Wright has publicly backed the idea of Lookman returning to England.
Reflecting on Lookman’s journey, Wright said:
“You think about his struggles—those loan spells, adjusting to different leagues.
But he kept moving, kept searching for his place, and he’s found it at Atalanta. I’d love to see him come back to the Premier League, maybe to Arsenal, and show he has unfinished business.”
Lookman’s transformation since leaving Everton has been remarkable. Whether he was a missed opportunity or simply not given the time he needed at Goodison Park, his success now speaks for itself.
