Cameron Burgess has addressed Ipswich Town fans following the confirmation of his departure this summer.
The centre-back had been in negotiations to renew his contract at Portman Road, which officially ends on July 1st. However, it was revealed yesterday that he declined the offer amid reported interest from Scottish powerhouse Rangers and Spanish La Liga sides Valencia CF and Girona.
Ultimately, Burgess chose to remain in English football by signing with Championship club Swansea City.
This move marks the end of his four-year spell in Suffolk, during which he played a key role in Ipswich’s climb from League One up to the Championship.
“Dear Ipswich, what a journey it’s been!” he wrote on Instagram.
