Thomas Frank Clears Path for Richarlison’s Exit as He Takes Charge at Tottenham
Thomas Frank has taken over as Tottenham Hotspur manager following Ange Postecoglou’s departure, and he’s already begun reshaping the squad.
One of his first significant decisions has been to inform Richarlison that he is free to leave the club during the current transfer window.
The Brazilian forward, who joined Spurs from Everton in 2022 for £50 million, has struggled to make a consistent impact in North London.
Despite occasional flashes of form, injuries and inconsistency have defined his stint, and Frank — who has arrived from Brentford — has reportedly decided that Richarlison doesn’t fit into his long-term plans.
According to The Sun, Spurs are prepared to accept offers in the region of £20 million for the 28-year-old, who remains under contract until 2027.
Potential suitors include Galatasaray and Everton, although it’s believed that David Moyes is not keen on re-signing him for the Toffees. Galatasaray have also shown interest in Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, who impressed on loan last season.
Richarlison’s time at Spurs could end with a record of 20 goals and 10 assists in 90 appearances.
He missed 30 games last season due to injury and, even when available, found it difficult to secure a starting spot under Postecoglou, who often preferred Dominic Solanke in the attacking role.
As Frank evaluates his squad ahead of both Premier League and Champions League campaigns, Tottenham are expected to invest in attacking reinforcements.
West Ham’s Mohammed Kudus — who has an £85 million release clause — has emerged as a key target, while Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo is also on their radar.
However, Mbeumo reportedly favors a move to Manchester United, despite the chance to reunite with his former manager.
Tottenham appear ready to take a significant financial loss on Richarlison as part of their summer overhaul under Frank’s leadership.
