### Tim Iroegbunam Aims to Make Immediate Impact at Everton
New signing Tim Iroegbunam is eager to make a strong start at Everton, especially as he reunites with a former teammate who used to push him to excel. Iroegbunam joined Everton from Aston Villa on Saturday for a reported fee of £9 million, becoming the club’s first summer transfer. The 21-year-old midfielder expressed his excitement about playing alongside Ashley Young, who recently signed a one-year deal with Everton, making him the club’s oldest outfield player at nearly 39 years old.
Iroegbunam said, “I’m looking forward to seeing him again. He was always on to me, but I knew it came from a good place. He was always pushing me, encouraging me, and giving me advice as a young player. He’s had an amazing career so far, and it’ll be good to play with him again. Hopefully, he takes me under his wing.”
The Great Barr-born midfielder cut his summer break short to finalize his move to Goodison Park, eager to join the squad for pre-season training. He explained, “It was very important for me to get the deal done early. It means I can get settled in and take my chance to impress from the start of pre-season. You don’t want to be playing catch-up, and I’m really pleased to get the move sorted quickly.”
