**West Ham Linked to Corinthians Youngster Wesley**
Since April, West Ham United has been frequently linked with Corinthians’ young talent Wesley. Reports suggested that the Hammers made bids of €15 million and €18 million, which the Brazilian club rejected, hoping for a higher offer.
However, those larger bids never materialized. According to Area Napoli, this situation has taken a new turn. Napoli has shown interest in Wesley, and Radio Kiss Kiss invited ESPN’s Brazilian correspondent, Diego Mezzogiorno, to discuss the player.
Mezzogiorno mentioned that Wesley’s market value has significantly decreased, with Napoli potentially acquiring him for just €10 million—a stark contrast to earlier expectations.
He stated, “A fortnight ago, a journalist covering Corinthians reported that some Napoli executives were following Wesley. When I spoke to Conte and De Laurentiis, I asked about it. Porto and West Ham have been tracking Wesley for some time. He plays similarly to Kvaratskhelia and could be a future replacement for the Georgian. The coach didn’t confirm it to me but didn’t deny it either. If Napoli wants him, they could get him for €10 million. It’s a gamble—he might succeed in Italy or flop.”
West Ham’s initial bids were rejected as Corinthians expected much more for Wesley. However, with his value now lower, the Brazilian club might regret not accepting West Ham’s offers. Additionally, since West Ham has completed the signing of Luis Guilherme from Palmeiras, it seems unlikely they will pursue Wesley again.
