Former Luton Town loanee Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is set to undergo a medical with Premier League club Chelsea after the Blues agreed on a transfer fee with Leicester City.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Dewsbury-Hall will move to Stamford Bridge for a £30 million fee and sign a six-year contract with Chelsea. Romano reported that the midfielder is traveling to West London today to complete his medical and finalize the contract.
Last month, Leicester City achieved promotion to the Premier League by winning the Championship title. After a decisive 3-0 victory against Preston North End at Deepdale, the 25-year-old Dewsbury-Hall stated that he had no plans to leave Leicester, saying, “I’ve been at Leicester since I was 8 years old and I’ve got no intention of leaving.”
However, less than two months later, Dewsbury-Hall’s stance has changed, and a deal with Chelsea is expected to be completed next week. A significant factor in his decision is likely the presence of Chelsea’s new manager, Enzo Maresca, who succeeded Mauricio Pochettino. Last season, under Maresca at Leicester, Dewsbury-Hall scored 12 goals and provided 15 assists in 49 appearances, and he is now set to reunite with his former boss.
Throughout his career, the box-to-box midfielder has shown a talent for scoring goals and creating opportunities for his teammates. During his loan spell at Luton Town, Dewsbury-Hall scored three goals and recorded six assists in the Championship.
