Royal has agreed to a five-year contract with the Serie A club. Although Tottenham will incur a loss of around £13 million based on their initial payment, they hope the sale proceeds smoothly.
Last season, Royal played a crucial role for Spurs, covering various positions in the back four. However, with Pedro Porro ahead of him at right-back and Archie Gray’s arrival adding more competition, Royal’s departure seems likely.
Postecoglou praised Royal as “outstanding” last season, but it’s evident he is a player the club is willing to part with. Spurs are hopeful that the transfer will proceed without complications, bringing in some much-needed funds.
