### Tottenham’s James Maddison Predicts England Victory in Euro 2024 Final

Tottenham midfielder James Maddison has expressed confidence in England’s chances ahead of the Euro 2024 final against Spain, set to take place in Berlin on Sunday. Maddison, who wasn’t selected for the tournament in Germany, is still backing his national team to triumph.

Maddison joined the England training squad for friendlies against Bosnia and Herzegovina and Iceland last month, following a debut season at Tottenham where he scored four goals and provided nine assists in 30 matches. Despite his performance, after playing 29 minutes in a 3-0 victory over Bosnia, he was cut from the squad before the match against Iceland as Gareth Southgate finalized his 26-man roster.

Following his exclusion, Maddison took a vacation, sharing photos on Instagram, including one by a pool in a retro Spurs shirt with ‘Gascoigne 8’ on the back.

Now back in England and training with Tottenham for their pre-season, Maddison, despite his disappointment, supports the Three Lions to win against Spain and claim their first major trophy since 1966. England secured their spot in the final after a 2-1 victory over the Netherlands on Wednesday.

When asked by the Tottenham media team about his prediction for the Euro 2024 final, Maddison confidently stated, “England of course, it’s coming home.”

Other Tottenham players also shared their predictions. Timo Werner and Pape Matae Sarr both leaned towards an England win, while Emerson Royal believed Spain would triumph. Archie Gray predicted a 2-1 victory for England, and Lucas Bergvall acknowledged Spain’s strong performance but felt England would ultimately prevail.

After being omitted from the England squad, Maddison posted a heartfelt message on Instagram, expressing his disappointment. He admitted his form had dipped following an injury but remained hopeful for future opportunities, wishing the team success in Germany.

Maddison wrote, “Devastated doesn’t quite cut it. Trained well and worked hard all week but if I’m honest with myself, my form for Spurs when coming back from injury in the second half of the season probably wasn’t at the levels I had set which gave Gareth a decision to make. I still thought there would be a space for me in a 26-man squad as I feel I bring something different & had been a mainstay in this whole qualifying campaign for Euro 2024 in Germany but the manager has made the decision and I have to respect that. I’ll be back, I have no doubt. Wishing the boys all the luck in the world out in Germany, unbelievable group and lads that I literally call some of my best friends. I genuinely hope football comes home.”
