"GOOD NEWS FOR TOTTENHAM FANS AS CLUB ABOUT TO PUT ANOTHER YEAR ON £22M PLAYER'S CONTRACT

Tottenham Hotspur may not have made many signings this summer, but fans could soon receive a significant update.

Archie Gray has been the only permanent addition in the past month, with Ange Postecoglou also seeing Timo Werner return on loan.

However, Spurs are working to strengthen their squad for a busy 2024/25 season as they prepare for Europa League football.

Postecoglou will get his first proper look at his squad in action on Wednesday in their opening pre-season match.

One player set to feature against Hearts is also expected to receive a one-year contract extension.

Tottenham to extend contract of £22m forward
While Spurs haven’t been very active in the transfer market, several players have departed.

Daniel Levy has been clearing out Postecoglou’s unwanted players, with several more, including Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, attracting interest from Europe.

However, one player who won’t be leaving is Heung-min Son, whose contract is set to be extended.

According to journalist Ben Jacobs, Tottenham will trigger the contract extension for their captain, Heung-min Son.

The South Korean star is currently in the final 12 months of his contract but will now see his stay extended until the summer of 2026.

Heung-min Son still performing at the highest level
Although Son recently turned 32, he remains at the top of his game.

Last season, he scored an impressive 17 goals and provided 10 assists in the Premier League, with only one season where he scored more league goals in his nine years in England.

Costing Spurs just £22m, Son has proven to be one of the Premier League’s best bargains, amassing a remarkable 162 goals for the club.
