Tottenham Hotspur are intensifying their preparations for the new season following their victory over Hearts on Wednesday night.
Attention now shifts to their next friendly against Queens Park Rangers on Saturday, offering another chance for Ange Postecoglou to evaluate his squad.
Several players delivered standout performances for Tottenham at Tynecastle, which might have revived some careers and accelerated others’ promotions to Postecoglou’s first team.
However, Daniel Levy has shown decisiveness this summer by allowing several players to leave the club.

Despite interest from Real Madrid, one player who will certainly stay this summer is Mikey Moore. The young Englishman has attracted attention from top clubs like Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain.
“Mikey Moore still wants to stay at Spurs. He’s a highly-rated talent and still only 16 years of age, so we need to be cautious in our reporting,” said Ben Jacobs.
“We’re talking about a young teenager, and it’s important not to overhype at this stage. There’s no guarantee with players until they turn 18 and have their first professional contract or become first-team players. But Mikey Moore is a top talent, and Tottenham expects him to stay at the club.
“His family is very grounded, as is he, and they’re flattered by links to Real Madrid and PSG. PSG downplays any concrete move at this stage, and Tottenham is optimistic he will stay as it’s the right place for his development.”
How much football will Mikey Moore play this season?
After a stellar 2023/24 campaign, Moore is already seen as a future ‘superstar,’ with high expectations.
In the U18 Premier League, Moore scored 17 goals and provided 12 assists in just 22 appearances.
While he seems ready for the next step, whether he is prepared for a permanent role in the senior side remains to be seen.
Postecoglou’s faith in him is evident, having called him up to first-team training and giving him his Premier League debut. However, Moore will likely need regular playing time for further development, much of which could come from Wayne Burnett’s U21s.
