Tariq Panja of the New York Times criticized the club’s operations, describing them as “awful.” He believes Everton’s business model under Farhad Moshiri appears to involve borrowing money from anyone in discussions to buy the club. Panja wrote on X, “Everton’s business model under Moshiri now seems to be to borrow money off anyone who might have been in talks to buy the club. Friedkin now a lender, after the deal was called off. Follows 777 and A-Cap and others. Hard to see this whole situation not blowing up. Awful for staff and fans.” Brown replied, “Unsustainable certainly.”
