The new Premier League season is rapidly approaching, and Ange Postecoglou is optimistic about Tottenham Hotspur and the current atmosphere at the club.
Positive Changes for Spurs
This summer has seen significant changes at Spurs, with staff transitions, fringe players departing, and promising young talents emerging. Speaking to Football.London, Postecoglou shared his positive outlook on the club’s current setup. He stated, “Everyone says you should feel fresh, and it helps that we have new staff, new coaches, new voices, new sport science, and a new head of medical. I’ve always been wary of players returning from pre-season knowing what to expect.
“We aim to improve, and to do that, we can’t just repeat last year’s routine. I prefer things with a bit of freshness, but we do build on the foundation laid last year. The players understand our game, and we must keep progressing in necessary areas.”
Balancing Old and New
For those concerned about too much upheaval, Postecoglou assured that the processes remain stable despite the departure of his former assistant, Chris Davies, and the arrival of new coaches Nick Montgomery and Sergio Raimundo. He said, “Nothing too radical. I’m keen on them working as a team, and they’ve been great. The guys from last year have been fantastic in integrating the new coaches and giving them time to adjust.
“I’ve always encouraged everyone to take responsibility, and we’ll see how roles develop throughout the year. For now, we’re working well. The players appreciate hearing different voices and skill sets, which should provide them with more information on what they need to do.”
