"He's completely ineffective"—Ange Postecoglou must drop Tottenham flop against Arsenal following disastrous performance against Newcastle

Ange Postecoglou should avoid starting Wilson Odobert when Spurs face Arsenal at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday, September 15.

Postecoglou’s team will return to London in a poor mood after their 2-1 defeat to Newcastle United on September 1. Despite controlling much of the match, Spurs squandered chances and were ultimately beaten.

Tottenham now has four points from their first three matches, with one win, one draw, and one loss. Their recent record at St James’ Park includes heavy defeats of 6-1 and 4-0, but this time Postecoglou’s side should have secured a win if not for their inefficiency in front of goal.

Wilson Odobert, in particular, was wasteful. The 19-year-old struggled against Newcastle and should be considered for removal from the starting lineup for the upcoming match against Arsenal. Odobert was ineffective, failing to complete any of his dribbles, missing a crucial chance, and making numerous mistakes, including only completing 83% of his passes and giving away possession 11 times. Defensively, he won just 50% of his ground duels and was dribbled past twice.

Although Odobert has potential and may improve with time, Postecoglou will likely prefer more experienced players for the high-stakes match against Arsenal.

In other Tottenham news, a player currently on loan from the club showcased Premier League potential with a strong performance yesterday.
