Abdulai, who joined Swansea in 2021 after youth stints at Celtic and Leicester City, is showing signs of breaking into the first team. His performances have attracted interest from Premier League teams, with West Ham and Bournemouth reportedly interested, and the Hammers currently leading the chase.
However, some believe Abdulai may not yet be ready for top-flight football. FLW’s Swansea City pundit, James Fleming, suggests that Abdulai’s potential is undeniable, but he needs more experience in his natural central midfield role to fully showcase his abilities. Fleming argues that Abdulai’s current position on the wing does not allow him to demonstrate his best qualities, and he needs more time in central midfield to prepare for a Premier League move.
